Google will improve search results to combat harassment on the web

The tech giant intends to reduce the rating of not only the complained site but also similar malicious resources.

Google’s existing mechanism allows users to manually report websites that publish content with their participation without consent and require a ransom to remove it. Google analyzes the information provided to victims of such harassment and then removes the page from search results while lowering the overall ranking of the website. Now Google intends to improve this process.

The tech giant will not only take action against a malicious site but will also downgrade similar “low quality” malicious resources that appear in search results. This will help protect people who are constantly harassed because of various information posted about them on the Internet without their consent.

According to experts, the problem of search queries will never be solved and they tend to listen to users and look for ways to improve the quality of the system.
