Hackers sell stolen source code of CD Projekt RED games

Hackers continue to trade intellectual property of the Polish company CD Projekt RED. The source codes of the popular projects The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are for sale on the Web.

According to media reports, a group of hackers Babuk, using ransomware, was able to steal data from the development studio CD Projekt RED. Among them were the source codes of the games “The Witcher 3” and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as some internal documents of the company.

The leak was known back in early February, and the company officially announced it. Two days later, the hackers published the information they received on a file hosting service and asked for $ 7 million. However, it is still unknown if the lot was real.

The hackers closed the auction ahead of schedule – after they received a better offer. According to databreaches.net, now this data is on the web in a password-protected form.

To gain access, you need to transfer $ 10 thousand in cryptocurrency to the specified wallets. The text of the message says about the ability to access the source codes and resources of Cyberpunk 2077, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its nextgen versions.
